Obituary for Gerald Machen Mulhall

Mr. Gerald Machen Mulhall, 90, of Como, MS, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 25, 2014 at his home. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina to The Late William Joseph Mulhall and Mathilda Thomas Machen Mulhall.

Mr. Mulhall (also known fondly as Bumps) was active in the choir at Como United Methodist Church. He was educated in England and was part of "The Greatest Generation," as a member of the British Royal Navy where served on the Destroyer H.M.S. Blencathra in World War II. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Mildred Taylor Mulhall of Como, MS; one daughter, Marie Machen Mulhall Roome and his son-in-law, Peter Willemse Roome, who was like a son to him, of Portland, OR; two sons, William Taylor Mulhall of Stamford, CT and John Gerald Mulhall of Como, MS; two grandchildren, Ashley McQuaide Roome and Courtney Taylor Roome, both of Portland, OR. He was a beloved husband, devoted father and loving grandfather who will be missed dearly.,

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 29, 2014 at 11am in Como United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery in Como. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, 2014 from 10-10:45am in the Fellowship Hall of the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Como United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 277, Como, MS 38619.
