Wayne Scruggs, 52, of Independence, MS, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – DeSoto in Southaven, MS.

Wayne was an active and dedicated member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, in Independence. He loved his Sunday School Class and looked forward to the fellowship each Sunday. He will be remembered as an incredible Christian man, who truly loved God, his family, and always thought about others before self. He had a tremendous impact on everyone he came in contact with and never met a stranger.

Wayne is survived by his parents, Ronnie and Frances Scruggs; one sister, Gail Alexander (Richard); and one brother, Brad Scruggs, all of Independence; grandparents, Vera Scruggs of Independence and Julia Hall of Looxahoma; three nieces, Haley Corzine, Haley Thompson, and Mandee Pierott; three nephews, Dusty Scruggs, Justin Scruggs, and Noah Alexander; two great-nieces, Autumn Corzine and Albree Corzine; and one great-nephew, Hunter Scruggs.
