Joe Billy Goodwin, 76, of Sarah, MS, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Panola Medical Center in Batesville, MS. He was born in Blackjack on June 20, 1944 to Annie Ruth May and Robert Cecil Goodwin.

Billy was a butcher for over forty years at Larson’s Big Star. Billy had a special place in his heart for his cat, Murray. He loved that cat, and they played and fought every day! He enjoyed fishing, watching football and the history and documentary channels. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband and stepfather.

Left to cherish his memories is his family, which includes his wife, Deborah Goodwin, of Sarah, MS; two daughters, Maribeth Cook of Sarah, MS and Christy Hudson of Batesville, MS; two sons, Ronnie Goodwin of Batesville, MS and Kevin Goodwin of Senatobia, MS; and ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Dorothy Vaughn and Betty Logue and three brothers, Albert Goodwin, Bob Goodwin, and Skip Goodwin.

Ray-Nowell Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
