Mr. Howard Eugene “Gene” Clayton, 66, of Senatobia, MS, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Senatobia Convalescent Center. He was born on December 12, 1946 to Earl Clayton and Evie Pryor Clayton. Mr. Clayton was a member of Solid Rock Assembly of God Church in Senatobia, a member of Fox Den Hunting Club and former employee of Springs Industries in Sardis.

Mr. Clayton is survived by two daughters, Loretta Harrell (Tim) and Lisa Barnett (Robert), and one step-daughter, Megan Palmertree, all of Senatobia; one step-son, Matthew Palmertree of Olive Branch; four grandchildren, Lauren Fletcher (Michael), Ashley Casey (Clint), Adam Barnett (Megan),and Judith Smithey (David), all of Senatobia; two step-grandchildren, Christian Hebert, of Senatobia and Carson Palmertree of Olive Branch; three great-grandchildren, Addie Casey, Lily Fletcher and Jaxon Barnett, all of Senatobia; two brothers, Ewell Ray Clayton (Marie) of Bett Community and Leon Sowell of Pontotoc; and one niece Kim Clayton, also of Bett Community. Mr. Clayton was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, the late Sonny Sowell.
