Frances Dhority Scruggs, 74, of Independence, MS passed away on Monday, January 4, 2015 at her home.

A graduate of Senatobia City Schools and Northwest Mississippi Junior College, she attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she was a member for over 60 years. She was a retired LPN from Haven Home in Hernando, MS. She loved dairy farming and enjoyed working for many years alongside her husband on their dairy farm.

She adored her grandchildren, who affectingly called her “Too Too". She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter and sister. Mrs. Scruggs is survived by one daughter, Gail Alexander (Richard) and one son, Brad Scruggs, all of Independence, MS; her mother, Julia Hall, of Looxahoma, MS; one sister, Patsy Dhority Gulbin of Independence; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one niece; one nephew; two great-nieces and one great-nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Ronnie Scruggs; one son, Wayne Scruggs; her father, Lavern Dhority and one brother, Larry Dhority.
