Mrs. Clarice Ward Powell, 94, of Como, MS, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - DeSoto in Southaven, MS.

Mrs. Powell was born on September 18, 1921 in Smith County, MS to The Late Martha Smith Craft and Moulder Craft. She was a member of the Church of Christ and Eastern Star. Mrs. Powell was a loving mother and grandmother, a wonderful seamstress who loved to quilt and she was an avid gardener.

She is survived by six daughters, Marjorie Ward Hutchison (Royce) of Como, MS, Elizabeth Ward Graham (Dale) of Titusville, FL, Bobbie Ward Lockhart (Tom) of Carlsbad, CA, Lynda Ward Harris of Sardis, MS, Edna Ward Still of Como, MS and Charlotte Ward Jackson (Tommy) of Como, MS; one son, Hubert L. Ward (Gloria) of Sardis, MS; twenty grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; and nineteen great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Hubert Joe Ward and Thomas Powell.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 11am in the Sardis Chapel of Ray-Nowell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery in Como, MS. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 6-8pm.

Memorial contributions may be made to Peachcreek Baptist Church or to Pleasant Grove Volunteer Fire Department.
