Obituary for Willie Elizabeth Lindsey

Mrs. Willie Elizabeth Lindsey, 88, of Senatobia, MS passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020, at her home.

Mrs. Lindsey was born on March 22, 1932 in Arkabutla, MS to the late Willie Eliza Lentz Webster and Marion Webster. She served as secretary to the general manger of D. Canale Food and Beverage in Memphis, TN before retiring. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, bowling, archery, gardening, knitting, and sewing for her grandchildren. Her family was her passion. She was widowed at a very young age and devoted her life to her family, especially to caring for her mother, her children, and her mother and father-in-law. She loved cooking holiday meals and her home was always open for other to enjoy her cooking and her company. She loved her dogs, Gretchen, Bridget, and Miss Scarlet. She was warm and caring lady with a kind heart whose absence will surely be felt by her friends and family.

She leaves behind three daughters, Wanda Bolen (Jim) of Senatobia, MS, Marian Wilson (Brian) of Royal, AR, and Alison Donahou (Robert) of Senatobia, MS; one brother, Marion Vester Lentz of Highlands, TX; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; her cousin, Betty Presley of Como, MS; and Gabriel, her beloved rescue pup. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alton Brown Lindsey; her grandson, Robert Donahou, Jr.; and her parents.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2020, at 1pm in Forest Hill Cemetery - Midtown in Memphis, TN with Rev. Monica Mosby and Rev. Harold McNeely officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Surrette Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 73, Arkabutla, MS 38602.
