Obituary for William Fate "Bill" Murphree

Mr. William Fate Murphree, 90, of Senatobia, MS passed away on Friday, June 7, 2019, at his daughter's home in Birmingham, AL.

Mr. Murphree was born on March 4, 1929 in Calhoun County, MS to The Late Dee and Odell Murphree. He proudly served his country in the United States Army in the Korean Conflict where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a hard worker all of his life and loved his time spent farming with his son. Mr. Murphree was a member of First Baptist Church in Senatobia and he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed dearly.

Mr. Murphree leaves behind his daughter, Sheila Hoffman (Steve) of Birmingham, AL; his son, Keith Murphree (Kim) of Senatobia, MS; his sister, Virginia Howell; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife and best friend of 64 years, Delories Murphree; his parents; his siblings, Charles Dee Murphree and Bobby Dean Murphree.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at 2pm in the First Baptist Church in Senatobia with Dr. John Mahoney and Rev. Chris Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Senatobia Memorial Cemetery with military honors with Calvert Murphree, Michael Murphree, Dustin Rhinewalt, Joey Glass, Jordan Bankston, and Ben Vernon serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held in the Senatobia Chapel of Ray-Nowell Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 from 6-8pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Murphree's memory to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 99, Senatobia, MS 38668.
