Obituary for Shirley Deaton Moore
Shirley Deaton Moore, 91, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Desoto Healthcare and Rehab in Southaven, MS.
Mrs. Moore was born in Batesville, MS on June 4, 1930, to William Edwin Deaton and Margaret Nelson Deaton. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Methodist Church and was a very down-to-earth lady and a hard worker. She loved being outdoors, enjoyed gardening and especially loved feeding and watching birds. Mrs. Moore was retired as an accountant for Jimmy Gray Chevrolet.
She dearly loved her family and was a devoted wife mother, grandmother, and friend. Left to cherish her memory is her loving family, which includes, two sons, Robert Lance Moore and wife, Wanda Moore of Nesbit, MS, Britt Nelson Moore and wife Lois Loyd Moore of Southaven, MS; one sister, Betty Greenlee of Batesville, five grandchildren, Brady Moore, Robert Moore, Daniel Abston, Sheena Wimms, Gemma Ryan. and three great-grandchildren, Ayla Wimms, Hudson Wimms, and Caleb Moore. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Robert Moore and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at Dickins Funeral Home in Batesville, MS, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 5, 2021. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Magnolia Cemetery in Batesville. Dickins Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
