Obituary for Sherrye LeJeune Pope (Hardin)

Sherrye LeJeune Hardin Pope, 70, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North MS, in Southaven. Sherrye was born in Memphis, TN, on April 14, 1951, to Juanita Murphree Hardin and James Sherman Hardin.

Sherrye was a devout Christian lady and a member of Highland Baptist Church in Senatobia. She had a heart of gold and loved people. She loved visiting with friends and family, enjoyed watching movies and westerns, and listening to gospel music, especially, the Gaithers and Elvis. Sherrye dearly loved her family and her greatest joy, was spending time with her three grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Grammy”. She will be remembered as a devoted mom, “Grammy”, sister, aunt and friend.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving family, which includes one son, Rickey Pope of Senatobia; three grandchildren MaKayla Pope, Stephen Pope, and Ryan Pope, all of Senatobia; two sisters, Carole Hardin Boyd (Mark) of Senatobia and Gayle Hardin McGraw (Don), of Harmontown; five nieces and nephews and ten great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Sherrye will be forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, and she will definitely not be forgotten.

A graveside service followed by interment, will be held at 12 p.m., on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Senatobia Memorial Cemetery.

It was Sherrye’s request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Sherman Hardin Scholarship at Northwest MS. Community College.
