Obituary for Sandra Mae Ware (Hodges)
Sandra Mae Ware, 87, of Batesville, MS, passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2021.
Sandra was born on August 25, 1934, to Ed and Gladys Hodges. She was a native of Crowder, MS and later moved to Batesville and married her husband of 63 years, Lonnie Ware. She worked at Batesville Elementary School in the cafeteria until she retired. Sandra was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Batesville. She enjoyed spending time with her family and watching soap operas. Sandra had a green thumb and loved gardening. She will be lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and friend.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband Lonnie A. Ware, of Batesville; one daughter, Bettie Dillard (Sam) of Enid; one son Lonnie Randall Ware, of Batesville; four grandchildren, Teresa Lynn Boyett (Michael) of Batesville, Lonnie Price Groner (Ashley) of Enid, Michael Paul Ware of Sardis, Allen Chase Ware (Kalli) of Georgia; and twelve great-grandchildren, Natalie Ware, Harley Cole Boyett, Jeremy Layne Boyett, Nicolas Ryan Boyett, Daniel Ray Groner, Genesis Paige Groner, Isabella Rose Groner, Lora' Leigh Mae Groner, Mason Anthony Mersereau, Rayden Ware, Rhyan Ware, and Rhyleigh Ware. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Jo Patterson and Bettie Ronne of Texas, and her parents.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 3, 2022 at Dickins Funeral Home in Batesville, MS. A Funeral Service for Ms. Ware will be at 1 p.m., on Monday, January 3, 2022, at Dickins Funeral Home in Batesville, MS. Interment will follow at Center Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to The American Cancer Society.
