Obituary for Richard Burr Fuller

Mr. Richard Burr Fuller, 85, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020, at his home in Barr Community of Tate County. He was born on December 25, 1934 in New York to Iva Sperk Eckel and Joseph Eckel. Mr. Fuller was a retired air traffic controller. He loved being outdoors and observing nature. He was a very talented handyman, who enjoyed wood working, automotive repair, and collecting John Deere memorabilia. He enjoyed watching westerns and listening to Merle Haggard music and singing “You Are My Sunshine” to his grandchildren. He will be remembered as a hardworking, generous man, and a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. Fuller leaves behind his loving family which includes two daughters, Debbie Lynn Fuller Wages (Jerry) and Barbara Ann Fuller Robinson (Bob Swords) all of Senatobia; two sons, Robert “Bobby” Lee Fuller (Paulette) of Millington, TN and Gerald Keith Fuller (Sandra) of Ecru, MS; one sister, Teddy Bove’ (Bob) of East Aurora, NY; two brothers, Emmett Fuller (Carla) of Holland, NY and Billy Eckel (Pat) of Orchard Park, NY; five grandchildren, Mandy Wages Lawson (Craig) of Somerset, KY, Jason Wages (Kelly) of Collierville, TN, Amy Lofton (Brian) of Hernando, MS, Bethany Johnson (Clint) of Senatobia, and Carly Robinson of Senatobia. and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Fuller, one son, Dale Emmett Fuller, one sister, Alice Eckel; one brother, Ronald Fuller and his parents.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Looxahoma Community Cemetery. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
