Obituary for Mattie Kennedy (Fullilove)

Mattie Fullilove Kennedy, 79, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at her home in Crowder, MS. She was born in Carroll County on November 17, 1942, to the late William Prentiss Fullilove and Edna Maude Self.

Mattie was a member of Blue Lake Baptist Church in Crowder and was a faithful servant of food pantries in Panola County. She enjoyed going to yard sales, doing upholstery, and loved listening to Hank Williams and watching old western tv shows.

Left to cherish Mattie's memory is her loving family, which includes two daughters, Martha Chandler (Randy) of Water Valley and Sandy Lewis of Batesville; two sons, Brian Kennedy of Crowder and Thomas Kennedy (Bridget) of Batesville; two sisters Minnie Murphy and Johnnie Gazaway; eleven grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Mattie is preceded in death by her husband of forty-two years, Alfred Miller Kennedy, her parents and one son, Douglas Kennedy.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 14, 2022, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Dickins Funeral Home in Batesville. The funeral service celebrating Mattie’s life will take place on Friday, April 15, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Dickins Funeral Home.
