Marie Parker Flemons,94, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2022, at Senatobia Healthcare and Rehab in Senatobia, MS. Marie was born in Quitman County (Walnut Community), Mississippi, on November 28, 1927, to Arthur and Annie Irene Parker.
She was the youngest of nine children, Jewett, Eston, Brad, J. Lonnie, Robert, Veter, Durene, and Helen. Marie lost her mother when she was nine years old and was raised by her older brother and his wife, The Late Jewett and Lucille Parker. At the age of 16, Marie was married to Joseph Dow Flemons.
She was a loyal servant to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was faithful in her quiet time with the Lord everyday. She loved her church, Highland Baptist Church in Senatobia, MS. Marie enjoyed doing yard work and growing her flowers. She especially loved gospel and country music and enjoyed outings and gatherings with family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory is one daughter, Brenda Williams of Grapevine, TX; five grandchildren, Cal Williams (Tracie) of Madisonville, LA, Valerie Maclin of Grapevine, TX, Greg Flemons of FL, Heather Flemons of Memphis, TN, and Marshall Flemons of Bartlett, TN, and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Dow Flemons; two sons, Bobby Flemons and Doug Flemons; her parents; five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at Ray-Nowell Funeral Home in Senatobia, MS. Visitation will be on Sunday, January 16, 2022, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens in Lyon, MS.
