Lincoln Wade Hawkins, 26, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, in Coldwater, MS. Lincoln was born in Memphis, TN, on November 16, 1994, to Cheryl Devereaux and William Wade Hawkins.
He loved playing backyard basketball, working on his truck, and spending time with his family. Lincoln enjoyed many pastimes, such as video games, tinkering with all types of electronic devices, especially his computer, and working for his Uncle Stan at the feed store and Uncle Mike at the furniture store. He liked all types of music, especially rap and making his own beats. Lincoln was a loving son, brother, and cousin, a gentle and kind soul and a friend to everyone. He will be missed dearly by everybody who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Cheryl Devereaux of Lancaster, SC; one sister, Nicole Denise Ledbetter (Logan) of Hope Mills, N.C.; and one stepsister, Katelyn Christine Brown of Charlotte, N.C.; four aunts and uncles, Stan Hawkins (Jean), Mike Hawkins (Carol), Glenda H. Craig (Louis) and Carole Jo Hawkins; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Wade “Bill” Hawkins; grandparents, Joseph Wade Hawking, Carolyn F. Hawkins, John C. Devereaux (Rebecca) and Linda F. Campbell.
A memorial service for Lincoln will be held at 3 p.m., on Friday, August 27, 2021, at Coldwater First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, TN or Coldwater First Baptist Church.
