Obituary for John C. Gee
Mr. John C. Gee, 83, of Pleasant Grove passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2019, in his home.
Mr. Gee was born on December 11, 1935 to the late Ethel Carter Gee and W.F. Gee. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church, served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict, and was a Mississippi Crop Duster. Mr. John was a man of few words but was known for his love of family and will be remembered as a man of principles who always put his family before himself.
He leaves behind his three daughters, Laurie G. Faught and LeeAn Gee, both of Pleasant Grove, and Linnet Gee Mathewson of Boulder, CO; his son, Don C. Gee of Pleasant Grove; his “other brother,” Jack Hefferin and sister, Shirley Blackwood of Green Cove Springs, FL; thirteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Mae Reynolds Gee; his granddaughter, Gini Mae Fought; his parents; and his brother, C. Thomas Gee.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2019, at 8:30 am in Pleasant Grove Methodist Church with Bro. Steve Frost officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2019, from 4 pm - 6 pm in the Sardis Chapel of Ray-Nowell Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Pleasant Grove Cemetery Fund, 8583 Hwy. 315, Sardis, MS 38666.
Arrangements are entrusted to Ray-Nowell Funeral Home.
