Joe Overton Daniel Wilbanks,79, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital- DeSoto, in Southaven, MS. He was born on March 12, 1944, in Walnut, MS, to Jewell Overton Wilbanks and Nancy Ann Jones Wilbanks. Joe was a member of Gray's Creek Baptist Church in Hernando, MS. He cherished spending time with this family. He enjoyed reading the newspaper and watching a good football or basketball game on tv.


Left to cherish his memory, is his daughter, Christy Thornhill (Joey) of Hernando, MS; son, Joe Wilbanks, Jr. (Debbie) of Byhalia, MS; and four grandchildren, Heather, Joseph, and Trace Thornhill and Logan Wilbanks. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Jewell & Nancy Wilbanks; and his wife of 37 years, Melba Joyce Wilbanks.


Visitation will be held at Ray Nowell Funeral Home in Senatobia, MS on Saturday, November 18, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Funeral services will be held at Ray Nowell Funeral Home chapel at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Enterprise Cemetery, CR 515, Enterprise, MS 39330.
