Obituary for James Calvin Hefley "jim"

James (Jim) Calvin Hefley, 74, of Germantown, TN, passed away on November 10, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Memphis. He was born on April 26, 1947, to Clara Dell Dunlap Hefley and James Justin Hefley. Jim grew up in Sardis, MS and was a 1965 graduate of North Panola High School. He served in the Mississippi National Guard, attended Northwest Mississippi Jr. College in Senatobia, and received a bachelor’s degree in Business from University of Mississippi. Jim had a successful 50-year career in the electrical business and was the owner of Lighting Design and Sales. He was always the first person to arrive and the last one to leave the office.

Jim was a caring and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He always made time for his family and especially enjoyed spoiling his granddaughters. An an avid Ole Miss fan, he treasured his times at baseball, basketball, and football games. He enjoyed sitting on his back porch, watching the hummingbirds graze at the feeders during the summers.

Left to cherish his memory, is his loving wife of 46 years, Roberta Hefley; one daughter Emily (son-in-law, Geoff Fetzer-Gill); one son, Justin Hefley; two granddaughters, Evelyn and Beatrice; two nephews, David and Rob and brother, Earl Hefley, of Natchez, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A private graveside service and interment will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Sardis, MS., on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at 2 p.m.
