Obituary for James Clifton "Ro" Bullard Sr.

James Clifton “Ro” Bullard, Sr., 84, of Harmontown, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at The Blake in Oxford, MS. Mr. Bullard was born on September 25, 1935 in Oxford, MS to James Andrew Bullard and Mary Leona Smith Bullard. He was a graduate of University of Mississippi School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctor Degree. Mr. Bullard practiced law in Kennet, MO for over fifty years before he and his wife Sherry, returned to Ole Miss territory and the land he loved. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing and was a devoted supporter of the Ole Miss Rebels. He was a Mason, a member of First Baptist Church in Kennet, MO and attended Harmontown Baptist Church for the past twenty years. A generous and caring man, he was lovingly called “Ro” by his grandchildren and close friends.

He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and dear friend. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of forty-three years, Sherry Bullard of Harmontown, MS; two daughters, Melinda Bullard Holt (Stockton) of Charlotte, NC and Melanie Bullard Todd (Mike) of Harmontown, MS; two sons, Andrew Clayton Bullard (Sonja) of Kennett. MO, and James Clifton Bullard, Jr. (Megan) of Memphis, TN; and five grandchildren, Rachel Suzanne Bullard of Germantown, TN, Taylor Holt and Owen Holt, both of Charlotte, NC, James “Jamie” Todd of Oxford, MS and Anna Kay Todd of Harmontown, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 23, 2019, at 11am in the Senatobia Chapel of Ray-Nowell Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Bethesda Cemetery. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Monday from 10 am – 11 am. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
