Obituary for Eurel L. Joyner Jr.
Mr. Eurel L. Joyner, Jr., 75, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2019, at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Oxford, MS.
Mr. Joyner was born on June 14, 1944 in Batesville, MS to The Late Lillie Mae Henry Joyner and Eurel L. Joyner, Sr. He proudly served in the United States Army in Germany during the Vietnam era. Mr. Joyner enjoyed woodworking and working on cars. He was a loving husband and father, but his grandchildren were the center of his world. He loved each of them dearly, and he will be deeply missed by all.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Cindy Jo Joyner Whitten of Batesville, MS and Tisha Joyner Wallace (Al) of Saltillo, MS; and his four grandchildren, John Mark Whitten, Taylor Gurley, Emma Claire Wallace, and Gracie Wallace. He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Karen Tidwell Joyner and his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2019, at 2 pm in the chapel of Dickins Funeral Home with Bro. Hal Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Batesville Magnolia Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 - 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Mr. Joyner's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
