Obituary for Dorothy O. Bennett-Crowson
Dorothy (Dotti) O’Nita Bennett Crowson, 79 years old, went to her heavenly home Wednesday afternoon, June 26, 2019.
She was born March 1, 1940, in Pontotoc to loving parents, Doye P. Crowson and Corinne O. Owens Crowson. Dotti attended Memphis schools from elementary through high school. She grew up with a dear cousin, Pat Hurst Dever, who she considered a sister.
Dotti’s vocational skills included hairdressing, instruction in hairdressing, and property management, an area in which she excelled. Dotti enjoyed ballroom dancing, and won several contests over the years. Even in recent years she was tempted to “cut a rug” on occasion.
In 2011, she moved to Batesville to reside with her cousin, Mary Evelyn Barber.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
