Mrs. Cynthia LaVurl Collier Ray, 76, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at her home in Harmontown.
Mrs. Ray was born on June 2, 1943, in Chattanooga, TN to Jewel Maynor and Mason Collier. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed attending the meetings and social gatherings. She was a very talented seamstress who could make anything - even her own square-dancing outfits. Mrs. Ray was known as a great cook and enjoyed preparing dishes for her family and friends. She loved the outdoors, especially fishing. Her friends and family described her as “the salt of the earth” kind of lady, a very compassionate and loving individual and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving family, which includes her husband of 40 years, Ronald Ray; her daughter, Margaret Weiler of Coffeeville; her son, Eddie Hughes of Harmontown; one sister, Shirley Burger; seven grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
