Obituary for Cornelia Lee McDonald (Burrow)

Cornelia Lee Burrow McDonald, 89, passed away at her home in Senatobia, MS on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Born on January 2,1933, Cornelia, was the oldest of thirteen children, born to Claude Burrow and Mary Frances Hopper Burrow.

She was a member of Looxahoma Baptist Church and was known as a very hardworking, independent, selfless, and giving Christian lady. Cornelia owned her own beauty shop and was a hairdresser for 27 years. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She also enjoyed fishing, camping, canning the vegetables that she grew and was an excellent cook. Cornelia was a very compassionate person, who loved everyone, particularly children. She was a loving and amazing mother and enjoyed caring for people, especially her family. She also shared her love with others, as a foster mother and babysitter.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving family, which includes two daughters, Cristal Ellis and her husband, Adam, and Jada Faith McDonald, all of Looxahoma; one son, Warren Dale Burrow; one very extraordinary grandson, Steve McDonald; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; five sisters, Evelyn Paden, Mary Ruth Morris, Nancy Curtis, Linda Casey, and Becky Spitzer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Lawrence McDonald; three sons, Lawrence Richard McDonald, John David McDonald, and Steve Langdon McDonald; six brothers, Aubrey Burrow, John Burrow, Billy Burrow, William Warren Burrow, Richard Burrow, and Charlie Burrow; one sister, Faye Price, and her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the giver’s choice. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
