Obituary for Chester Wayne Youngblood

Chester Wayne Youngblood, 79, of Senatobia, MS, went to be with the Lord on January 29, 2022. Wayne was born on July 21, 1942, the youngest of six children, born to William Jefferson Youngblood and Vannie Johnson Youngblood.

Wayne was retired from Chromcraft Furniture, in Senatobia, where he was a department supervisor. He had an impeccable work ethic and was loved by his employees and coworkers.

He loved baseball and in his younger days, was a talented left-handed pitcher. He also loved antique cars and watching WWE. One of the highlights of his day, was hanging out with his morning “breakfast bunch”. As they enjoyed their morning visits, Wayne and his buddies would sit, laugh and discuss all sorts of things. He looked forward to this every day. Wayne also had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to tell jokes and make people laugh.

Wayne cherished his family and was a fun-loving, silly pawpaw. One if his favorite pastimes, was riding his John Deere lawn mower, and was often seen riding with a grandchild in the front. His greatest love of all, was his beloved wife, Marie. He and Marie had a special kind of love that lasted over forty-seven years. Wayne was extremely loving and attentive to Marie and even strangers could see their endearing love for each other. It was a beautiful demonstration of “two becoming one”, as the Bible describes. He was a true follower of Christ. His Christian character was exhibited by the way he lived his life, loving others exactly the way Jesus instructed.

He was an amazing husband, dad, pawpaw, brother, and friend. Known by his outgoing personality, Wayne never met a stranger. He was loved by so many people and touched every person he met. Always putting others before himself, he was the true definition of a servant-leader. Because of his compassion and kindness, he was always lending a hand to someone in need.

Wayne leaves a legacy to so many people. Left to cherish his memory is his loving family, which includes his wife, Marie Youngblood, of Senatobia; three daughters, Judy Warren and husband Frank, of Oxford, Nancy Watson and husband, George, of Coldwater, and Tina Hopkins of Brandon; two sons, Randy Self and wife, Frances, of Senatobia, and Tim Youngblood and wife, Connie, of Oxford; seven grandchildren, Philip Morrow, Heather Coleman, Ally Farrow, Jessica Self, Ashley Walker, Brandon Self, and Ethan Youngblood; thirteen great-grandchildren and one sister, Mary Jane Burch. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Amos Youngblood, Bennie Youngblood, Claude Youngblood, and Bobby Youngblood, and his parents.

A “Celebration of Life” service will be held at Lifepoint Church in Senatobia, on Friday, February 4 2022, from 4-6 p.m. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with arrangements.
