Obituary for Elvera Eno Robinson

Elvera Robinson, at the tender age of just 106, passed away in Sardis MS and went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, October 9, 2019.

She was “Mom” to her sons, “Elvera” to her many friends, and “Grandmother” or “Grammy” or “Gram” to her grandchildren ... but to a host of others, she was just “Gram.” Born in Colorado Springs, CO March 12, 1913, this gentle lady loved to say she was a Westerner. No one would have guessed it! Elvera was the epitome of a gracious, Christian Southern lady who loved her family, her home and her Lord. Elvera and her husband R.L. (Rob) Robinson were inseparable for 57 years. After living in various places out West, moving to Atlanta GA and finally settling in Memphis TN, they traveled the world with his job as pilot for C & S, which later became Delta. But no matter where they went, she loved going home to be with her family and friends the most. In 2008 Elvera joined her son Malcolm and his wife Margaret in Sardis, MS in her own little apartment on the lake. Lots of birds, flowers and hummers kept her busy. Elvera was an accomplished seamstress, a
beautiful painter and the best cook around. All who entered her home were invited to eat a meal or at least have tea and a delicious dessert. She was lavish with praise, hugs, advice (if asked) and always a shoulder to cry on. She had an amazing sense of humor and laughed abundantly. A member of the Union Baptist Church and, prior to coming to Sardis, to Whitehaven Presbyterian Church, Elvera never forgot to say her prayers.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son Malcolm R. Robinson (Margaret), Grandchildren Dan Robinson (Mary), Robin and Helen Robinson, Gina Robinson Byrd (Austin), Ed Crudup, III (Val), Leslie Crudup Rochester (David). Plus five beautiful great-grandchildren Katie Robinson, Claire Bailey, Jackson Bailey, Hunter Rochester and Abigail Rochester. Elvera was preceded in death by her husband R. L. (Rob) Robinson and son R.L. (Robby) Robinson, and daughter-in-law Stella Robinson. Please say a little prayer for Elvera Robinson, this lovely lady who has touched the lives of so many.
